Updates & Adventure

We spent a few nights at Lazy River Cottage this past weekend to do some spring cleaning and maintenance. The weather was absolutely perfect so we wanted to squeeze in a little fun while we were there too.

Updates

We freshened up the landscsping with some new mulch and cleaned up lots of pollen, but the biggest change this weekend was the addition of the new butcher block top to the kitchen island. The top that came with the island didn’t hold up like we had hoped, so we decided to replace it and we love how it turned out. We hope you will love it as much as we do.

Adventure, Mentone Style

We couldn’t let the beautiful weekend go by without a little fun. We took our son and a few of his friends and headed out on an adventure, Mentone style. They soaked in the fun and awed at the the beauty everywhere around us.

We flew through the tree tops in DeSoto State Park at Screaming Eagle Zipline Canopy Tours. So much fun!!

We hiked the DeSoto Falls trailheads. That view is always breathtaking, no matter how many times you’ve seen it.

We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to drive over to Little River Canyon National Preserve and take in the canyon views and Little River Falls.

We even kayaked Little River and enjoyed having the river to ourselves a little while longer until the DeSoto Falls State Park Picnic Area opens back up.

DeSoto Falls Picnic Area Update

We haven‘t heard when the state park service plans to open DeSoto Falls State Park Picnic Area again after the maintenance is complete, but we did take our drone and got a sneak peak of the progress they’ve made. It’s going to be so nice and we are looking forward to enjoying the area when it’s completed. Check back soon for a video update of the progress.
